Badger Lapidary & Geological Society’s Annual Rock, Gem & Mineral Show
March 16 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm MST
The 53rd annual Rock, Gem & Mineral Show will be held March 16th & 17th at the Rock County Fairgrounds, Craig Center from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday and 9:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday. This educational, family friendly event has children’s activities of a fishpond, spinner game, and a Mar’s Rover Model Contest. Members will be displaying interesting, unusual rock and mineral specimens (including a 100lb meteorite) as well as demonstrations of gem faceting, geode splitting, and a huge fluorescent mineral display. There will be hourly door prizes, speakers, and a roaming rock wizard to answer any questions you might have about rocks or fossils. Two talks will be on meteorites, one on fluorescent minerals, one on toxic minerals and a special speaker Dr. Rebecca Williams from the Planetary Science Institute will be talking on “Postcards from Mars”. Eleven dealers will be displaying and selling a breathtaking quantity of worldwide minerals, fossils, gemstones, and jewelry. Admission is a free will donation.
